Arabian Memory Championship 2019

 

The 8th edition of the Arabian Memory Championship was held on 1st-2nd November 2019, it was held in the beautiful Tunisian city of Sousse inside the “Orient Palace” Hotel, one of the most beautiful coastal hotels in Tunisia. The hotel was selected in cooperation with the agency “Zen Voyage” And “Genius Academy”.

The Championship was held under “international standards” and was supervised by Dr. Riadh Bensaoucha, founder of the Arabian Memory Championship and the official representative of the World Memory Championship in the Arab World. The main team was as follows: The Main Arbiter in the competition Room was the Level 3 Arbiter Ahmed Lamine Chala, The Arbiters team was supervised by the Level 2 Arbiter Lakhdar Achour, Results Calculation the Level 2 Arbiter Oum El Kheir Ben Naoui, the closing ceremony was headed by the Level 2 Arbiter Asmaa Benceur. The Level 2 Arbiter Kamal Lerari was in charge of financial matters. The Championship was organized by the Arabian Memory Championship Foundation, represented by the Director of the Foundation Dr. Riadh Bensaoucha.

The Arbiters team included 40 Arbiters for: Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Sudan, Libya and Iraq. They participated in the Championship after participating in the arbitration training program presented by international Level 3 Arbiter Ahmed Lamine Chala on October 31st, then there was a lecture for the competitors to explain the form of the events.

In the championship Room there was 60 competitors from 6 Arab countries: Tunisia (33), Algeria (17), Bahrain (4), Sudan (4), Yemen (1) and Libya (1). The composition of the competitors is as follows: 33 females, 27 males, 31 Adults, 18 Juniors and 11 Kids, 17 have participated in previous Championships and 43 new competitors.

– First place: Yassine BEN ABDALLAH- Tunisia, with a total of 4126 points.

– Second place: Mohamed Imad Eddine BENACEUR – Algeria, with a total of 2539 points.

– Third place: Kamel HAMADI- Algeria, with a total of 2341 points.

Kids Category:

– First place: Ikram Habiba BOUAKAZ – Algeria, with a total of 1909 points.

– Second place: Houcine BENSAAD- Tunisia, with a total of 752 points.

– Third place: Nour Imen KHOFFI – Tunisia, with a total of 645 points.

The ranking of the countries participating in the Championship when calculating the average points for the top 3 competitors from each country is as follows:

1- Algeria: 3195 points

2- Tunisia: 2473 points

3- Bahrain: 904 points

4- Sudan: 598 points

5- Yemen: 223 points

6- Libya: 37 points.

The results were announced on the evening of 2nd November 2019, where the closing ceremony was animated by Dr. Abdel Ghani Khecha. The ceremony started with traditional Tunisian musical tones welcoming the guests, followed by the speech of the founder of the Arabian memory Championship, Dr. Riadh Bensaoucha, after that Mr. Bachir Mostiri, Director General of University Services in Biskra- Algeria was honored for his organization of the first Universities Memory Championship in the world, which was held on 19th-20th April 2018 under the supervision of the Arabian Memory Championship Foundation.

Representatives of the Arabian Memory Championship in the participating countries were also honored: Mr.   Mohamed Bensalem from Tunisia, Mr. Ali Sharafi from Bahrain, Ms. Sarah Said Youssef from Sudan, and Mr. Nour Boujdine from Morocco. Then came the time of honoring the main team: International Arbiter Ahmed Lamine Chala, the Chief Arbiters Lakhdar Achour, the Level 2 Arbiters: Moez Trigui, Oum El Kheir Ben Naoui, Kamel Lerari, Asma Benaceur. and also honoring Salma Ayedi and Rami Chaabane, responsibles for the relationship with the hotel and logistics.

The success partners were also honored, the training centers that participated in the Championship through competitors, where the managers of all these centers were honored with shields: Genius Academy (Tunisia), Benaceur Center, Key of Life Academy, Sapphire Foundation, Khwarizmi Academy, Thula Academy (Algeria) , Arab Intelligence Center (Sudan), Bahrain Mind and Electronic Sports Federation (Bahrain).

The medals and Cups were handed over to the deserved Kids, Juniors and adults, including a Memory Show from Competitors.

The most active memory trainer in the Arab world, “El Mehdi Soltani” from Algeria, was honored with a shield, a certificate and a Money prize.

Also, the most active trainer in the Arab world in the field of memory for university graduates, “Mohamed Amine Triki” from Algeria, was honored with a shield, a certificate and a Money prize.

Despite the absence of Fatma Kamoun, the representative of the Arabian Memory Championship in Tunisia and the Director of the Kid’s Memory Project, the Arabian Memory Championship honoring her with a certificate of thanks and appreciation in recognition of her love of Memory and Support.

Finally, the competitors and the Arbiters were honored with participation certificates accredited by the Arabian Memory Championship Foundation. In the end the Ceremony a big cake was cut and distributed to the guests, and it was an opportunity to take a lot of memorial photos with the new Champions.

On November 3rd, it was time for the Tourist day for all participants in the Arab Memory Championship 2019. The participants moved to the city of Kairouan to visit “Shrine of Abu Zomaa al-Balawi”, “the Great Mosque”, “the Carpet Factory”, “the Ancient City”, “Roman Museum”.. Wonderful tourist day will stay in long term memory.
