Universities Memory Championship
The first Universities Memory Championship in the world was held on 19th-20th April 2018, organized by the Directorate of University Services, Biskra-Chetma, under the supervision of Dr. Riadh Bensaoucha the founder of the Arabian Memory Championship. The competition was attended by 43 competitors from 26 Algerian universities, 27 of them females and 16 males, The Championship was organized at the Pole University Biskra-Chetma.
The 18 th April 2018 the Events started by the reception of the students coming from Different Algerian universities at the Regional School of Olympic Sports. The accommodation was provided for the students coming for the Championship. On the evening of that day there was a collective dinner for the students.
On the morning of April 19th, 2018, the ceremony was officially launched by hearing the national anthem at the big lecture hall of the Pole University Biskra-Chetma. This was followed by a speech of Mr. Bachir Moustiri, Director of University Services in Biskra-Chetma, after that the speech of Dr. Riadh Bensaoucha, the founder of the Arabian Memory Championship, the audience was impressed by the Recall of 200 Binary Numbers, 100 Random Words, and 200 Random Number in a Memory Show presented by the Students.
A lecture titled “Secrets of Sharper Memory for University Students” was presented for the first time by Dr. Riadh Bensaoucha, after that a memory training workshop was held to prepare the students participating in the Championship. After a brief break, the first day of the University Memory Championship began with three events: Random Words, Names and Faces, Random Dates.
The events in the competition room was Managed by the international Arbiter Mr. Ahmed Lamine Chala, Mr Lakhdar Achour was the Chif Arbiters. The results were calculated by Ms Om Elkhir Ben Noui, Mr Kamel Larari take the task of checking the correction quality, the Arbiters Team was 20 Arbiters, 15 of them are from the Directorate of University Services, Biskra-Chetma, and 5 from the Arabian Memory Championship Foundation.
After the first day of the Championship, the students returned to the residence place to take a rest, and in the evening they have an Entertainment Evening after that long day full of events and competition.
The second day of the Championship began early to complete the remaining events: Arabic Poetry, Speed Numbers, Foreign Languages, Mathematical Equations. The results were announced after each event out of the Championship room and in the official group of the Universities Memory Championships on Facebook.
In the afternoon everyone went for a tourist trip to the city of SIDI OQBA and the magnificent GOUFI area where everyone enjoyed taking souvenirs and photos.
The closing ceremony was held in the celebration hall of the Regional School of Olympic Sports, in the presence of several important personalities, headed by the director of the University of Mohamed Khieder, Professor Ahmed Boutharfaya. The event was attended by several Media Institutions, including Chourouk TV, Nahar TV, Ajwaa TV, Biskra Radio, WBC Radio…
At the ceremony, several personalities was honored, Starting by Mr. Bachir Moustiri the Director of University Services, Biskra-Chetma, Dr. Riadh Bensaoucha the Founder of the Arabian Memory Championship, Mme. Hafida Rezzak Head of the Cultural Activities Department, Mr. Achour Alaa Edine In charge of Media, the Arbiters Ahmad Lamine Chala, Lakhdar Achour, Om El-Khire Ben Noui, Kamel Larari, Nasser Aziri the Arab Memory Champion 2017, in addition to all who contributed to the success of the event, organizers, Arbiters and guests of honor. After that the audience was impressed by the Memory Show of the Day Calander, a mathematical Equations, and 200 Contrary Random Number presented by the Students.

First place: Khaoula Benchanaa (DUS – Biskra Chetma)
Second place: Mohamed Amine Khacha (8 May 1945 University – Guelma)
Third place: Djawahir Mechouma (DUS Bouagal – Batna)
7- Mathematical Equations Event:
First place: Khaoula Benchanaa (DUS – Biskra Chetma)
Second place: Amna Khelifi (Higher School of Commerce – Kolia)
Third place: Roufaida Selsabil (DUS – Setif)
The overall ranking of the competitors were as follows:
First place: Amna Khelifi (Higher School of Commerce – Kolia) with a total of 4182 points
Second place: Khaoula Benchanaa (DUS – Biskra Chetma) with a total of 3893 points
Third place: Abdssamed Larbi (DUS- Tiaret) with total points: 3542 points
At the end of the Ceremony, Amna Khelifi (Higher School of Commerce – Kolia) Officially announced as the first Champion of the Universities Memory Championships in the world. On the following day, the delegates participating in the first memory Championship were bid farewell in a wonderful ambience with a hope of meeting them in the second edition next year.
